Atelier Minyon

I’ve never really been attracted to fine jewelry. While it’s beautiful and sparkly, it’s overrun with diamonds, and essentially has no character. And then I found Atelier Minyon.  It’s a second generation family jewelry house and they have their own way of doing fine jewelry.

This week, I was lucky enough to meet Alp Sagnak, the designer.  He is an extremely talented man, and one on a mission. Not only does he have very ambitious goals, but he is actually well on his way to meet them.  His designs are anything but traditional, but the handmade artisan quality speaks for itself. He grew up in the jewelry industry, working in apprenticeships, and studying the art and craft of design, which can easily see through his superior skill level.

Atelier Minyon’s pieces aren’t for everyone. They’re for a strong, confident woman who knows what she wants. They’re for someone with a strong taste level and appreciation for craftsmanship and quality.  Each piece is hand-carved and up close, you can see the delicate intricacies of each detail. And another redeeming quality? Diamonds are only used in slices. Alp is very specific is ensuring that each piece can stand for itself without diamonds before adding any to the design.

You’ll want to remember their name.  They have quite a plan ahead of them in all aspects of jewelry design and general business. Although I won’t reveal any secrets, let’s just say they have some pretty amazing things up their sleeves.

I sincerely want to thank the team at Atelier Minyon, and especially to Alp! If you’re in the city, stop by at 155 Spring Street, between W. Broadway and Wooster. They have a beautiful location and plenty to keep your wishlist full!

  1. Oooh, I love this jewelry. It’s so unique. Is it weird that I really like the gun?

  4. That ring should be mine. And not in a “one ring to rule them all” kind of way lol. Part of my extended family has a gator farm. Is that weird or what? Growing up in the deep south has always left me with a deep respect and fascination with gators and this ring is amazing.
